I have no doubts about my salvation. I am saved by grace to the uttermost!

However, the law of sowing and reaping is still in effect in my life. Just like in my relationship with my wife... If we fail to enact certain fruit-producing disciplines in our relationship, we forfeit the full benefits of grace.

David tried to bring the ark back into Jerusalem on a cart, but God's Presence will only be carried into a place on the shoulders of His worshipers. There was movement, but there were casualties.

The church building and sanctuary is only a cart if hearts aren't ushering Him in. Music and songs are only carts if people merely sing along.

Our programs and structures seem to provoke some movement or progress, but we have all seen casualties from trying to usher God's Presence in on our man-made ideas!

In what ways do we try to get God to move? What recipes have we come up with to invoke Him? Fast songs then slow songs? A particular amount of time?

He foresaw our flawed efforts and designed a plan to be carried in on the shoulders of those who worship Him in spirit and truth.

Our Father “seeks” for these kinds of worshippers. To “seek,” according to the
American Heritage Dictionary, is “to search for,” and “to endeavor to obtain or
reach.” In the game, Hide and Seek, someone is hiding, and someone is
seeking. If it is necessary for the Father to “seek” “spirit and truth”
worshippers, maybe we need to evaluate our worship and make sure we aren’t
“hiding” our worship behind religious protocol or duty and worship openly
and honestly so that He can “find” us very easily!

What was Jesus saying to the Samaritan at the well when he said, "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers." in John 4:23?

Nutshell summary...

Spirit: Sincere expression of the way we value God made from the heart. It cannot be replaced with religious ceremonies.

Truth: It must be based on how the WORD of God instructs us to worship.
